Hi everyone!
A few days ago I spoke about healing meals to provide after a vet visit that is easy on our dogs stomach and allow the body to go back to functioning as normal. Today I want to talk about some great herbs that work with the body's natural rhythm to bring back to harmony, and touch a little upon energy work.
Herbs
1.) Echinacea - continue to use this herb 3 days after the vet visit. Please review my post on 'pre-vet care' for more information on Echinacea.
2.) Burdock Root - use in tea or tincture form to detox the body. Burdock root provides gentle support to the liver and kidneys to filter out toxins and pollutants from the blood. This is especially important for dogs that received allopathic drugs, heartworm and flea and tick medications, and vaccinations.
3.) Fennel seed tea - relieves gastric discomfort, stimulates digestion, increases appetite.
4.) Chamomile tea - calming, mild sedative, tonic (strengthens body functions, affinity for digestive upset.
5.) Slippery Elm Bark - Go-to herb for gastric issues as it coats, soothes and protects inflamed tissues.
As a reminder, I do make my own organic, human-grade tinctures that may be used for humans and for dogs. If you are interested in a specific blend, or a single herbal tincture, please let me know and I will work with your dog's energetics to see what herb(s) will heal them best!
Energy Work
Dogs are extremely energetic beings and respond the best with the energy you are putting out to them. Centering yourself and sitting with your dog (no tv, phone, etc.) is a beautiful way to connect with them. Setting the intention that your dog is safe, healthy, and happy is powerful, and you should remind them of such, either out loud or telepathically. Gently petting and massaging your dog (if they like that) and telling them they are healed and their body is in perfect working order will bring natural healing and rebalancing of health within the body.
